Pastel BioScience was founded in September 2002 and operates from laboratories within the Centre for Biomolecular Design and Drug Development at the University of Sussex, Brighton, UK where it has access to state of the art instrumentation and facilities. The founder and CEO, Dr. Stephen Osborne, developed the intellectual property that forms the core of Pastel BioScience's current enabling platform technology.

The company is funded from commercial license agreements, business angel finance and a Government research and development award. Pastel BioScience is well situated in the south of England and only twenty minutes from one of London's principle airports, Gatwick.
