Pastel BioScience's main efforts are being directed towards its development of the InVenio™ biomarker discovery & validation platform. To reach this end goal Pastel has had to develop and integrate individual technologies which have significant applications in other fields.

Pastel will look to realise value from these technologies through licensing and collaborative research programmes. Some of the technologies that Pastel is looking to partner are listed below.
  1. Novel capture molecule technology : Pastel has created a massive recombinant library of capture molecules based on a totally novel human scaffold protein. While Pastel is looking to apply these capture molecules to its InVenio™ Technology there are potential applications as biological drug based therapeutics analogous to the human antibody libraries that are currently generating huge scientific, commercial and financial investment interest .
  2. Ultra sensitive immunodiagnostic assay : Pastel has identified and is currently in the process of developing a method for obtaining ultra sensitive immunodiagnostic assays that are likely to be orders of magnitude more sensitve than even the best current immunoassays. While the format will mean that they will not be suitable for POC settings, they could have huge potential in larger clinical laboratories and blood bank screening e.g. p24 HIV testing.
  3. Novel enhanced fluorescence homogeneuous-like assay : Pastel has observed a novel physical fluorescence effect which it believes could form the basis of a simple but effective fluorescence based immunoassay. Although not based on FRET, like homogeneous assays this assay will not require wash steps and so mean that the test is likely to be extremely rapid.
