have significant applications in other fields.

- Novel capture molecule technology : Pastel has created a massive recombinant library of capture molecules based on a totally novel human scaffold protein. While Pastel is looking to apply these capture molecules to its InVenio™ Technology there are potential applications as biological drug based therapeutics analogous to the human antibody libraries that are currently generating huge scientific, commercial and financial investment interest .
- Ultra sensitive immunodiagnostic assay
: Pastel has identified and is currently in the process
of developing a method for obtaining ultra sensitive immunodiagnostic
assays that are likely to be orders of magnitude more sensitve and specific than
even the best current immunoassays. While the format will mean that
they will not be suitable for POC settings, they could have huge
potential in larger clinical laboratories and blood bank screening e.g.
p24 HIV testing.
